A Guide to Choosing from Different Types of Headsets

There are a number of options available to you if you are in the market for a headset for personal or business reasons, though this can lead to problems if you aren't exactly sure what sort of headset you should be looking for. In order to help you with this, this guide will assist you in deciding what features would be most beneficial to you in the headset that you choose and will also help you to find the headset that best meets your needs while staying within a manageable price range.

Business and Telephone Headsets

When looking for a headset for a home phone or a business location, there are a variety of options at your disposal. You might choose a wired headset with a single earpiece for workers in your office location, though this may not be the optimal choice to use at home. Likewise, a headset with a wireless phone receiver could be of great use to you in the home but in an office setting it would be just one more piece of equipment that must be utilized while trying to make it through the business day. Choose your headset based upon the common conditions that it would be used in... a business might benefit from more stationary headsets (possibly with noise-cancelling technology), while a home would see more use out of a portable model so that you can continue your usual home routine while speaking on the phone.

Cell Phone Headsets

The cell phone has become an integral part of both business and personal life, and choosing the right hands-free headset can make both of these parts of life much easier. Cell phone headsets can be wired, wireless, or even operate on Bluetooth technology, but in the end they all accomplish the same goal of allowing you to talk on your cell phone without having to actually hold the phone to your ear as you talk.

VOIP Headsets

With Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) telephone systems rapidly rising in popularity, you may find yourself looking for a headset that is compatible with a VOIP system instead of a standard landline telephone. There are a number of VOIP-compatible headsets available, and they offer many of the same features as those for landline local telephone systems... there are wired headsets, wireless headsets, noise-cancelling headsets, and even Bluetooth headsets which all work flawlessly with VOIP networks. Be sure to check whether your headset is VOIP-capable before you buy, though many modern headsets have no trouble handling VOIP calls.

Bluetooth Headsets

As mentioned above, Bluetooth headsets can be used for a variety of different purposes including cell phone usage, VOIP service, landline hones, and can even be used with computers or with compatible devices for voice recording. The greatest advantage of Bluetooth headsets is the fact that they can effortlessly be transferred from one Bluetooth-compatible device to another; no additional drivers or software is required, and since Bluetooth is a wireless peripheral system there isn't even a need to plug anything in. Bluetooth headsets come in a variety of different styles which can be advantageous with different activities, so make sure you consider what your primary usage will be before deciding on a particular Bluetooth headset.

Call Center and Other Headsets

Of course, a good headset is vital to running a call center since answering the phone all day without one would leave you no time to do any of your other work. When looking for headsets for this essential position, make sure that you take into consideration which headset would be best suited for your office and the call center personnel. Look for a headset that is comfortable to wear, can be easily transferred from one device to another if needed, and that offers clear communication both from the earpieces and the boom mike.

Motorola Droid X

Since its release in July of this year, 15 Droid X immediately became the hot item. Having already exhausted the first day, what else can we say about this little "hottie", but that is for the secret services (or openly) desire of many people around the world. Even now, as of this writing, we secretly hope that Motorola will read it and I like it so much that they decide to honor us with a few droids.

It seems that this time a bit 'Motorolamanaged to close the mouths of even the biggest critics they have. How can a phone be that good, you may ask? Read on.

To start with, the Droid X has in our humble opinion "to die for" looks. And, even though it is the largest phone on the US market today, with its dimensions being 5 by 2.6 by 0.4 inches, its features make its size a minor flaw on the possible cons list. One more possible advantage of its size? You will have a reason (if you are looking for one) not to buy this phone for your kids, because it will not comfortably fit in small pockets therefore being more easy to lose. (We are sure Motorola can recommend something more appropriate for your tweens and teens.)

Its screen of 4.3-inch, 854 by 480 has a slightly higher resolution than other Android phones. And no need to panic button-lovers, because below the screen there are still four hardware buttons. The Droid X has the Swype text-entry method, which can make your typing even faster and easier. If you have to type in URLs, passwords, or (proper) names of course, you will have to type them by yourself.

We found another feature, an improvement you will love, the noise elimination. This time Motorola tried something new, they installed three microphones, two of which are used to cancel out the noise. In comparison to the HDC Incredible, we felt the Droid was better. However, if we talk about the earpiece, the Incredible's is slightly better than the Droid's, but the difference is small enough.

Two features which we think you should be happy with themselves, before heading detailed Bluetooth, which is not as often now on Android phones, second of Adobe Flash which is to come later as a software upgrade this summer. This makes the droid as one of the first phones to run Adobe Flash.

Now that the X-Droid uses Verizon's EV-DO Rev A network, has an excellent download speed and works as WPA2-protected 802.11g Wi-Fi hotspot for a maximum offive devices, so you could have up to 2Mbps to download onto a PC. Uploads for now are around 350Kbps. The cost of hotspot usage is $20 per month, this is an extra on your contract and you get only 2GB of hotspot usage, therefore every extra GB is an additional $50.

The Droid uses the 1570 mAh battery, which gives you hours and hours of talk time. We do think that because of its big screen you might want to charge it on a daily basis, however, we are pretty sure that a dying battery will be the last thing you will have to complain about. Moreover, Motorola will launch an even bigger 1930 mAh extended battery, which is 1mm thicker, but more powerful obviously, than the 1570 one.

Now let us move onto the operating system and software. The Droid X uses the Android 2.1 with the latest version of Motorola's MotoBlur extensions. It offers a single interface to sign into lots of different mail services, as well as social networks such as Facebook, and photo sharing services. Again, later this summer they're launching an Android 2.2 update, which supports Adobe Flash 10.1. To make it even easier for you, the Droid mixes Google and Exchange calendars, as well as Facebook, Twitter and MySpace, so you can see all of your friends' updates. However, if you find your phonebook's mixed list is too big, you can always choose to see only one of them. So, even though you might find "all-in-one" features very useful, you may come to the same conclusion we did: up-to-the-minute updates from Twitter and support for Facebook walls can be overwhelming. Blur, however, you cannot turn off, but you can try not signing into various accounts at once, so it won't add that information. You also might find that Blur slows down the Droid's performance and Web browsing, and freezes occasionally. On the other hand, Google Maps Navigation works like a Swiss watch.

In conclusion, even though we think the Droid still needs improvement on some minor things, it is one of the best Android phones on the market. For all the engineers out there, tell your hopes, because Motorola is the beginning of programming 2 Droid, and it seems that it would be soon. For the rest of us would not be satisfied with this version so perfect, the price is $ 299.99 with a two-year contract, less $ 100 mail-in rebate. All Verizon Wireless customers, whose contracts in 2010 have the option of paying $ 299.99 for. So, we say: Welcome to the future, long-live the Androids!

A simple guide to books on the go

Reading is an activity that most people find enjoyable. Books allow you to travel to places and times you would not otherwise reach. Moreover, books are a hive of information for readers, making reading both a good mental exercise and an education.

A downside of reading, however, is that it usually requires more time and effort than you can actually spare from your daily routine. Some people also find the actual task of reading words paper quite daunting. These two incidents often result in people not able to book, even if they do read. Fortunately, audio books, a solution for many people and was made available to 'read' books by Ann mere prospect.

No fuss "Read"

audio books are the latest best seller, guides, anthologies and self-help, even if you do not have time to read and enjoy if you do not like the idea of actually reading a book. With an audio book, simplyneed to plug in your earpiece, turn your player on, and listen to the voice as it 'reads' the book for you.

Audio books were originally made for use by the visually impaired but are now also widely popular among the general public. You can 'read' an audio book even while multitasking and during long commuting trips, especially when in trains where actual reading can be uncomfortable.

Audio books' availability

Audio books come in different formats. The first ones were sold as cassette tapes but with the coming of the information age, these tapes have been slowly replaced by more modern data storage equipment. Today, audio books are available in CD or DVD format which are widely available in both record stands and bookstores.

Some audio books can also be downloaded free of charge from the Internet. Finding books this way is as simple as keying a specific search word into Google or Yahoo, for which you will receive thousands of hits in return. However, most bestselling audio books and copies of print best sellers are sold for a fee.

Loading up on the digital books

Buying an audio book does not require any specific guidelines or rules. As mentioned above, these are widely available in record bars, bookstores, and on the Internet so supply is not an issue. However, it does pay to know what you are buying, especially from the Internet. One important thing you need to make sure of is that you only download and buy audio books which are compatible with your media player. Otherwise, the books will be of no use to you since you cannot play them.

Another tip, especially if you downloaded the books from the Internet, is to always keep a back-up copy. However, do not be tempted to make several copies and redistribute, much worse sell them, because such actions are illegal and can earn you jail time!

MP3 Player Tricks for Beginners

I bet almost every one of you may get a mp3 player. The new gadget really has brought us wonderful experience. To be an experienced user of mp3 player, one need clear examination of e user manual first, and the considerable amount of practice. Be able to use is just the beginning, finding out what it can do exceed your expectation is more interesting and challenging. Here goes the mp3 trick for beginners.

Use earpiece as FM tuner. A lot of users complain that they can't receive FM radio or it seems that their players never work in FM tuning. It is reasonable. Most players adopt internal antenna which is bad in receiving signals. To make things worse, most of you live/work in city buildings which will weaken and even block the signal. One good solution is to use the earpiece when tuning. The long wire serves "external" antenna at this time, and consolidate signal strength. You can test this if you don't believe. And you will be surprised to find that at many places (office room, apartment, etc) where it cannot tune-in previously, now you get clarity of sound and selectable programs.

Take care of the battery. Most players use built-in rechargeable batteries and replacing a battery needs specific technique which mean when anything happens to or affects the battery, it will render the player useless. Basic rules are avoiding heat/moisture/water, don't recharge until the player is completely drained, enough charge at each time, One acknowledgment is that the Lithium-ion battery has limited life span and the capacity will degrade naturally as time goes by. A few measures can slow down the degradation; they are regular breaking charge after particular time of using (one month, for example) and always keeping it cool.

Save power and gain longer performance. Do you know that almost every player can last longer than its specified hours. To achieve this, you have to take power saving measures.

1. Set back light time. There is no need to turn the back light on always, it wastes power. Set auto turn off after one minute of no operation.

2. Adjust brightness. Excessive bright color is not good, it hurts eyes, causes eye weariness. Adjust the brightness that best suit to your eyes.

3. Auto turn off. Forget to turn off when you fall into sleep? Set auto turn off and save power.

You need more excitement. An mp3 player, is not just a kind of personal music device, but an excellent source of all kinds of entertainment systems. You can connect it to your computer speaker, hear music from speakers without turning on the computer; or treat your guests by connecting it to your home stereo system; when on the rode, enjoy music by hooking the mp3 player to your car stereo system. With technology unification, you will find that your mp3 players are compatible to large varieties of other devices.
